St. John's Offers Live-Stream of Weekend Masses

Starting March 21, 2020, St. John Catholic Church of Russellville, AR will broadcast our weekend Masses through our social media accounts. Live-stream video will be available through our Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram accounts. For best quality, please use Facebook.

Masses will be celebrated by our parish priests. The live-streamed Masses will include Mass parts and hymns, for those at home to sing along to. The readings for the weekend, the responsorial psalm, and the hymn lyrics will be posted in the comments section throughout the Mass.

If you wish, you can also print out this Sunday's readings by going to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' website: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/032220.cfm

St. John Catholic Church will live-stream the following Masses:

Saturday Vigil:

5:00 PM - English

Sunday:

9:00 AM - Spanish

10:30 AM - English

The live-stream will begin 20 minutes prior to the start time, and will end 10 minutes after the recessional hymn. This time before and after Mass can be used to adore Christ, physically present in the hosts contained in the tabernacle. While watching the live-stream, we ask that you act as if you were physically present at Mass. An act of asking for spiritual communion may be done by saying the following prayer, after the celebrant has finished receiving communion (after drinking the Precious Blood):

"My Jesus,  I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.  I love You above all things,  and I desire to receive You into my soul.  Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,  come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen."

After Mass, parents may wish to take time to further explain the gospel readings to their children, or decide to talk about one of the topics posted in our "COVID-19 Child at Home Resources" Facebook group.

During this time in which we cannot physically attend Mass at our parish, we must pray as a community for the health of our city, state, nation, and world. Let us also pray for our Priests, Bishop, and Pope!

If you have any questions, please message us on Facebook or call the church office during weekday office hours.
